Abstract
AES-E3 field (Study Area)lies between latitudes (29o40’N and 29o 43’N) and longitudes (28o21’E and 28o24’ E).It constitutes a part of Alam El-Shawih concession (Petrosannan Company) in the northern Western Desert of Egypt. Permeability is the ability of a saturated rock to let the fluid flow through its pores. Fluid flow within the porous medium depends on the rock type and arrangement so Knowledge of the physical properties of the reservoir rock and its interaction with the fluid is essential for understanding and evaluating the performance of the reservoir. .One of the existing challenges for geoscientists and reservoir engineers is to improve an understanding of reservoir descriptions (fluid flow capacity). This study aims to define the best representative reservoir properties in a reservoir simulation model using Rock-Quality Index (RQI) and Flow-Zone Indicator (FZI). Poorly reservoir characteristics can lead to a significant impact in reservoir performance predictions and its future production behaviors. Therefore, FZI rock typing technique provides an understanding of factors that controlled reservoir quality and fluid flow characteristics.
